Seven On Saturday - 01/25/2020
Every Saturday Best Mommy Life brings you seven things that inspired, made us laugh, smile, giggle, or possibly even belly laugh this past week. We bring you seven new things weekly and hope they will help get your weekend off to a wonderful start. Enjoy!
I Am Going To Share One Of My Favorite Things...
During January, it’s one cold mother out there… and during this time of year I cannot get enough skin moisturization. My skin is constantly itchy and dry, and no matter how much lotion I use it doesn’t ever seem to be enough. So I’m going to share one of my favorite things with you that REALLY helps with so many different things. Coconut.
Coconut in all of it’s glorious forms, for multiple uses. I eat coconut butter, I use coconut oil for cooking, I use fractionated coconut oil for essential oils, I cook with coconut flour, one of my favorite snacks is DANG coconut chips, but one of THE MOST awesome things is to coat my skin with in the bath is coconut oil.
It’s fairly cheap and lasts forever. It’s better than any other expensive body oil I’ve ever purchased, and it smells great too. You can pick some up at Walmart or Target for about $6.00. It leaves my skin soft and refreshed and I can use half of the jar for cooking as well. Multipurpose for the win!

Is It Time To Think About A Vacation?
Vacationing with the family is such a great memory maker. My kids remember our vacations over most any other pastime I can think of, and they frequently remind me about their memories. “Mom, you know that one time… at [insert memory here]?” … is a common phrase at my house and we love talking about our vacations over and over again. If you’re looking to vacation anytime in the near future in the beautiful state of Tennessee, there is a hotel opening in Gatlinburg that is a TREEHOUSE resort… yes, that’s right… a treehouse.
It’s called the Treehouse Grove at Norton Creek Resort. Pete Nelson, a famous tree ouse designer and builder who’s been featured on Animal Planet for over 600 fascinating treehouses he’s built all over the world, has been a huge part of this amazing project. Sitting northwest of Gatlinburg, Norton Creek Mountain Resort offers fabulous views and a closeness with nature that will foster any mom’s much needed escape time away from the daily grind.

Quote Of The Week
“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see
you differently, too.
Coming back to where you started is not the same
as never leaving.”
— Terry Pratchett
Skip The Takeout..
Crockpot nights are DEFINITELY some of our favorite nights at our house. Why? Because I can spend less time cooking and more time enjoying my family! Do you love Asian food as much as we do? Well skip the $35.00 Chinese take out bill and grab the ingredients for this awesome meal on your next grocery store shopping trip. We have a SUPER idea that we found for a really easy crock pot meal that you can add sides to with almost no hassle: Easy Teriyaki Crockpot Chicken. Couple with noodles and Asian veggies or even egg rolls to make dinner a synch.
Here Is What You Need:
Here Is What You Do:
Add everything except for the pineapple chunks, but do add the pineapple juice from the can. Cook 6-8 hours on low, and about thirty minutes before done, add the pineapple chunks.
Chowtime: Plate the noodles, rice, or veggies and top with the chicken for an easy and YUMMY Asian dinner night!

Best Mommy Life Weekly Book
Finally, we’ve come to our weekly book recommendation! Don’t Go There: From Chernobyl to North Korea—one man’s quest to lose himself and find everyone else in the world’s strangest places by Adam Fletcher.
This book has a great pace and is truly hysterical. A great read while traveling or while at home, Adam shares his stories of traveling globally in some very precarious situations with humility and laughter. The book is just a delight to read, and vividly captures his traveling experiences while off the beaten path.
